The High Priestess is the keeper of our wilder, more instinct-driven selves; not in a bestial, ugly way, but in being in true balance with our animal nature. The wolf is our strongest cultural symbol of what remains of the Wild, and she beckons us back to the trees. Reversed, we suffer the effects of our disconnection from our wild selves; we may be frustrated, or unsure of what we want, or we may fall prey to our baser instincts like greed, anger and selfishness.
