Today’s reading is with my Pocket Osteomancy set!
Tooth: The Tooth is on the border of Winter and Spring. You may be feeling muddled and unsure of things, as though the world is changing faster than you were prepared for. Part of you wants to stay in the familiarity of the comfort zone, but another part knows that you need to be able to adapt to the changes. You also know that “new” doesn’t always equal “better”, which may be part of why you’re so hesitant to make a decision. So it may be difficult to get yourself up to speed with what’s different, especially what you’re not happy about. But adapt you must, whether you like it or not.
Vertebra: This bone is well set in Spring. While it may seem like a bright situation, Spring is full of promises for the future, but lean gifts for the now. Part of what may be making the present so stressful is that you’ve been through a lot and you know how precarious things are, and you’re loathe to lose what resources and opportunities you still have. On the bright side, you’re aware of how precious these things are and that makes you less likely to squander them. So you may have a better chance of getting through the next stage of things without completely falling apart, though you’ll need to manage yourself carefully to do so.
Rib: This bone is settled in Summer, but close to the center. You may be trying to put on a happy face, but underneath you know how unpredictable things can be, and it’s hard to hide that worry. I’m not going to sugarcoat things and say everything’s going to be okay, because there are a lot of uncertainties and things that you have no control over. However, if only for your own mental health, do your best to focus on what’s good in life, what you do still have and can enjoy, even if it’s only temporary. You need to engage in self-care in order to be resilient enough to move forward, and sometimes that means giving yourself a break from all the rumbling trouble in the distance.
Long Bone: This bone is crossing the Rib in Summer. Like your internal life, you’re also outwardly trying to act like everything is okay. (Narrator: everything was not, in fact, okay.) There’s a strength to this, though, because it keeps you from just completely falling apart. And even though you may feel awful and tired and frustrated, you know you have to just keep putting one foot in front of the other through the whole ordeal. Some days you may feel like an automaton in doing so, but at least you’re making necessary progress. You know that this is not all there is to life, and that things will continue to change, including potentially for the better. Keep going.
Overview: This is a tougher reading than it may appear at first. You know that you can’t stay where you are forever, and that if you try to hang on everything will change around you and there’ll be nothing left to hold. But you’re also wary of the changes, and justifiably so, and they’re definitely taking a toll on you. You may have to fake it til you make it, both inside and out, and that’s going to suck. But there’s really nothing else for it, and at least you have some resources to help you get through this difficult time until you can see how everything looks once the shaking is done and the dust settles out.
